If you're here, I'm glad. Welcome. I plan on updating all of my blog pages today- this page, 10,000 Reasons and Oh, Happy Day. Check them out. I hope you will be encouraged. A quick peek at the past few weeks. We've been getting our art on lately! Bryce (left), Ashton (right) We made these by blowing watercolors with a straw. Super fun! Ashton's bulletin board with words he thinks describe LOVE. The postcards are from my snaily friends. The boys take turns picking them when they come in the mail. Bryce's bulletin board with words he thinks describe LOVE. It was creepy funny- when I misunderstood his "caring." (I thought he said, "killing.") Glad we got that one figured out! Ha. (That was a close one!) One of our recent memorization verses from our Peregrina study. Ashton recently finished reading the entire Frog and Toad Treasury. (an easy read) Next up: ...his first "real" chapter book. Yahoo! LOVE Thornton W. Burgess! And, we started our first "big" family read aloud- Mr. Popper's Penguins! I love the extra snuggle time this gives me with the boys. Some of Ashton's recent grammar work. We finished Singapre 2A and have started working on Singapore 2B. Yay! Ashton continues to work hard on his Sequential Spelling; it continues to be a good fit! We made simple valentines for grandparents this year. Bryce has expressed a LOT of interest in math lately. I was excited to find this math version of "Boggle" at our favorite thrift store. And he's GOOD at it too! He's also been telling time, which quite honestly blow my mind. Example: If he looks at a clock and sees it's 12:57, he knows that 1:00 happens in 3 minutes. It's amazing what he's learned just from observing Ashton! Love. Love. Love. ...and here are some of his beautiful b's! Well, that about sums up the school photos I have to share with you. Wanna see another one of my thrift store scores?! And how about a really cute (but really toothless!) boy?! The boys have been super into Star Wars lately. I've managed to find 3 of their Angry Bird sets. I seriously probably paid 50 cents total for all three! I believe two of the three are pictured above. Fun stuff! And here is my cute, toothless boy! The top middle teeth have been missing for almost a year. (Thanks, trampoline!) Bryce managed to knock the other two out this week. (Boys get pretty excited when they play! Ha. A simple excited arm swoop was all it took!) And lastly, I'd like to share this with you: This was part of our (super awesome and super free!) Peregrina Bible study.
We listed things we do during the day, and then thought about what fruits of the spirit we could focus on. I especially love "waking up with joy!" So, reader, I'm wondering, what kind of heart do you have as you go about your day? Do you have a heart that's filled with joy, patience, love, faithfulness, self control, kindness, gentleness, peace, goodness? Would others say you have this kind of heart? I encourage you to spend some time this week observing your heart while you go about your normal daily activities. I will be praying that you find yourself sharing the fruits of the spirit.
