If you know anything about the Green Owl, you know he is (owl-sessed) with the ABC's. He's writing them, reading them, probably even dreaming of them. Today, he wanted to sing them for you: COMING SOON: a tour of my homeschooling space and curriculum.

It's been awhile! We've been busy enjoying every last bit of summer. Last weekend we spent some time at my parent's cabin. Unfortunately, I forgot my camera! (Oh no!) We enjoyed some good 'ol t-ball, extreme crochet tournaments, some bocce ball, and a super fun board game- Wits and Wagers! I lost every found of crochet but kicked some butt in opposite handed bocce ball! Here''s what else we've been up to: Sidewalk chalking! Race car driving! And a little sunbathing. We've also had some fun with balloons. And, our sunflowers are still growing! Flat Ashley is the first of our 4 Stanley's to return home. I went to visit the Indians in Nevada, and apparently had a few close encounters. All in all, I enjoyed my time, despite the crazy hot heat! The boys have been doodling/writing machines lately. I love the detail on the Fantastic Okapi's little guy- see the pointing finger? And, the Green Owl continues to write letters like crazy... every once in awhile, I come across one that actually spells a word. Today, I came across this: "A WEED MAD." It made me smile. And, here's a tiny piece of our homeschooling room- my white board.
We usually go over this before we eat breakfast, lunch and supper. So, I asked Bryce the date and he answered. I asked Ashton to read our verse, and he did. I informed them that school starts in 23 days. And then it happened... You see, I scored these awesome Bible profile cards at the thrift store. Each one has a face, name, verse and some facts- perfect for our homeschool! I decided to start with Adam. Apparently, Bryce spent some time thinking about our verse, because earlier in the day, I heard him talking about males and females... "Males are boys and females are girls..." So, when I started to ask, "Bryce, who is this...." while I pointed at Adam, he excitedly shouted, "FEMALE!" Oh boy! Ha. It must be the hair! Many of my friends have asked questions about my curriculum, so I am going to take you on a tour of my homeschooling space and give you a little peak into my curriculum with my next post! Stay tuned! We took Flat Stanley out on the town last night, on our favorite nightly walk. We have quite a few pictures and many more adventures to go on. We're just going to share a tiny peek here. But, before we get to that, I want to share some cute little "notes" with you. The Green Owl (4) has been a writing MACHINE lately. I find notes all around the house. I haven't taught him how to write letters yet (That will be part of our school year this year) but he's off to a SUPER start all on his own. What do you think of his "Go Hog" note? (He knew that he wrote "go" but had no idea he had written "hog" hehe) He's always busy doodling ME too, heh. I love my little portraits. I carved this one into a rubber stamp. (brown image on left) And now for some Flat Stanley... or, as The Green Owl likes to call him "Hot Stanley." Heh. Stanley arrived safely in Wisconsin! Checking out the flowers at the library. Eh, you know, just hangin' around! A little more hangin'- this time with some minions. Uh oh! (We found this minion smashed in the road) Downtown. We still plan on taking Stanley to the library, grocery store and cabin. Stay tuned, we'll be sure to share more little "sneak peeks." Here's a little more "fun" from one of our walk last night: The Fantastic Okapi (my post office is in the background) Well, that's a wrap folks!
Hope your August is off to an awesome start! |
