A Few Things First...DUDES! You've been reading my blog! THANK YOU!!! I haven't received notification of blog comments in weeks... upon logging into Weebly today, they gave me a "tour" of the new layout. Imagine my surprise when I saw a notification saying I had 27 (TWENTY SEVEN!) awesome comments to approve! **Super excitement!** You've been reading my blog, people!! And not only reading; you've been commenting! It's such an encouragement to know that. *High five. cartwheel. happy dance* Ya'll are *that* awesome! I'm going to look into changes my settings so comments will no longer need my approval. Thank you for being so faithful in following, commenting and encouraging. Love you friendsies! Now, let's get started! Week 2 + 3Let me start by saying, I can't believe we just wrapped up our third week. Really!? How is that possible!? I feel like we just started yesterday (in a really good way!) This school year has been awesome so far! The boys have had such an excitement towards learning, and they love school! Soooo very thankful for their positive attitudes and eagerness towards learning. I absolutely love this photo- I think it captures one of the many reasons I love homeschooling so much. The boys work together, help one another and learn together. This was one of our history projects. We spent some time learning (Bryce) and reviewing (Ashton) the 7 continents by creating our own maps for our notebooks. Ashton's map. BW and his map. We learned about Noah and the flood this week. We also made our own 7 Days of Creation game. Busy working on their games. See Ashton's cute little thinking tongue? ;) It's a super power. (Super Concentration!) Part of BW's game. AW. We are keeping their games in their History Notebooks. Both boys enjoyed playing their games during quiet time. The goal? To line all 7 circles up in the right place. (We numbered them 1-7 on the backside) He did it!! This week we also did our first science experiment. Here are my budding (er, mad?!) scientists! We continue to learn about mammals. This week we learned not all mammals have fur. Experiment 1 was quite simple- we timed ourselves to see if we could hold our breath as long as an aquatic mammal. We also watched a short youtube video on baleen whales. After the video and our experiments, we did some notebooking to document our experiments. Ashton continued cruising through his Teaching Textbooks math. I love how they throw two T/F questions in with each lesson. And BW continues to cruise right along with his math too. He totally LOVES this Calculadder math book I found at a local thrift store. Oh! I almost forgot... here is one of our science projects from last week ... I snipped some stuffed animals up, and then we listed adjectives that describe fur. Here is Ashton's work: Thanks for following along with week 2 + 3!
