Whew, well! Our school year was officially supposed to begin tomorrow... but, life had other plans, and our start has been delayed a bit. I'm not the least bit concerned though, because that's the beauty of homeschooling: flexibility! Later this week, we'll be doing "Back to School" themed photo shoot. (Looking quite forward to it) I started looking through my teaching supplies tonight and am excited to start school next Monday, September 17. I absolutely adore our curriculum, and am already convinced it was the perfect choice for our family. In other news, we took a mini road trip to Friendship, Wisconsin over the weekend. One of Jed's and my first ever camping expeditions was to Roche-a-Cri State Park, so it was fun to go back and visit. (Part of our love story!) It was a beautiful day... storm clouds were rolling in when we got there, and the beauty of the prairie took my breath away. We were able to hike a bit, and also historic rock carvings. I did not bring my camera along, because I didn't want it to interfere with the carefree, fun adventure we were going on. It's very likely we will be visiting again in the near future, and if that holds true, my camera will come with us. Here are a few recent photos I'd like to share with you: This is my "teacher" handbook. (With my planning sheet tucked inside) We are using "Heart of Dakota." If you're looking for a fantastic Christian based curriculum, I highly recommend checking out HOD. (Very reasonably priced, too) Their website can be found by visiting this link: http://www.heartofdakota.com/ I have the entire Kindergarten HOD curriculum, but still enjoy picking up supplemental books at thrift stores. I was quite excited to find this book for just .59 cents! (It even has a copyright release- woo!) In other news, Ashton helped make supper tonight. (In honor of the first day of football, we made Tim Tebow's Mom's Pizza) De-lish! Ready for some football. Ashton and Buddy.
