The school year has been zippin' right by. We've gone on a few field trips- apple picking, a show at the local Performing Arts Center and a tour of BMO Harris Bank. All were enjoyable, but apple picking was probably our favorite.
I really wish I had photos to share with you- I've realized I've done most of my homeschool updating on Facebook.
I plan to change that. As of today, I've decided to take a break from Facebook for awhile to allow myself time
to refocus, recharge and ready my heart for Christmas.
I'm so thankful for Jesus; aren't you?
It's such a joyful season, and Facebook can be such a distraction at times.
I'll enjoy my time away.
I hope to spend more time with Jesus, instead of glued to my computer screen...
No worries though- I absolutely plan on keeping up with my blog.
I've missed blogging!
Just a typical day of school! Yep, shirtless school is the norm most of the time.
I absolutely love how interested Bryce is in Ashton's school work.
He's happy to just sit near Ashton and watch him work.
They're pretending to be super heroes in the last photo. (Never a dull moment 'round here!)
I spent some time making a special Advent calendar for our family this year.
It was a lot of work, but I'm really glad I did it. It's truly allowed us to capture the real meaning of Christmas.
Here's how it works.
Each day, we open a present.
Inside of each present we find a Bible verse, hand sewn ornament and an activity/treat.
Would you like to take a peek at our journey through Advent so far?
The stables the boys built. So far we've added Mary and Joseph.
Each day, the boys add a birthday candle to their mini bulletin board. We're counting up to Jesus birthday!
We added our names to Emperor Augstus' record book.
We also found Israel on a map and mapped Mary and Joseph's journey from Nazareth to Bethlehem.
Our Advent calendar as of Monday, December 10th.
Busy playing and imagining in Lego Land! (And keeping Buddy company, too)
